I suck. Here’s some pictures of me in today’s look. I used a matte white to highlight the brow bone, a warm bronze for above crease, a cool pink (which didn’t distract the warm tones) for the lids, and a frosty yellow green for the inner corner of the eye.

The first three colors are from the Too Faced Enchanted Glamourland Palette and the last was from the Dior Garden Party Palette.

Buying Dior Outside of Sephora

I can’t eat out for a whole month now. Check out the big ouchies that I love so much.

I went to Nordstroms to check out the quality of the Garden Eyeshadow Quad by Dior, which has a rose motif. After swapping all of the eyeshadow releases, I was convinced I was in love. We were set on getting just the eyeshadow, until the nice saleslady noticed my shitty ass Makeup Forever foundation that wasn’t the right shade for me. I knew beforehand too but was too lazy on returning it back to Sephora. She showed me this Airflash Foundation and it seemed too good to be true…until I noticed how matte my face was and how concealed my scars were. And I was told that I only needed to use a moisturizer prior application. But in order to apply this without wasting, I would need to use a half-bristle brush. And thus, now I am banned from eating at Brother’s Sushi for a long time.

Now I know why I don’t shop at department stores. They just know what you want and can get you to throw your meals away for it.

1st Nail Sets

Hey guys, long time no post! After attending Fanime (an anime convention in San Jose) and purchasing a Japanese Nail Art magazine (one revered to almost like a bible), I decided to start a new project. I will be making nail sets every week and sell them at the next Fanime. I’ve always wanted to set a booth at the artist alley, though not specifically just nails. In the past, I had inspirations of selling Gothic Lolita related accessories, but I’m not around home enough to do the heavy duty type stuff necessary to make these things. Nails are easier, and I haven’t seen any booth selling them. I know artsy nails can get pricey, therefore I am planning to sell mines at a price that is 1/3rd cheaper than the usual.

And now, the first 6 I’ve made. Please enjoy and send comments to me in any way you prefer. :) I have not used 3D gel on them yet, so they’re not 100% complete, but design-wise they are!

This is the first time I used Sweets Rement. I sanded the back to make it easier for the rement to stick onto the polish.

Those are fabric roses by the way! Also, some of those nails are reminiscence of pokeballs…

Took apart some old, freshman year jewelry for this set. I can’t believe I used to wear them as they seem super gaudy to me now. I think the stuff I wear now I would consider gaudy back in those days though, hahaha.

This is my favorite! I don’t know but the random colors and shinies compels me to stare at it for a long time.

This one isn’t really an original design. I saw this one off somewhere from using a site that sorta seemed like a Korean Google. I really need to fix this one though because a lot of the pink and white on one of the nails is scratched off. Wroops.

This last one I sorta just went crazy with. There are chains, rhinestones, old jewelry, shiny tape, and I even used stamp art! And no, it’s not meant to be sold to someone with 15 fingers, I just made hella extra for those that don’t want to be stuck with only 10 designs.

Tokidoki Sodashop Palette

My very first Tokidoki palette and I’m in love with it! The eyeshadows can be applied lightly or packed on, making it versatile palette able to use either during the day for natural looks or night for dramatic ones. It’s such a good steal, currently going for $35 and seems definitely better than the Tokidoki Robbery palette (small eyeshadow pans, half of the colors not as pigmented). Furbina is a very great velvety black eyeshadow and the palette is definitely worth it for that color!

Check it out! This Tokidoki magnet was placed in the front center of the palette!

A plastic sheet covers the eyeshadow. The plastic sheet labels the color (which are named after Tokidoki characters).

And here’s a look I did today with the palette. I used Papatino, Riposino, Mozzarella, and Ciotolina and the Carina liquid eyeliner.

Warning: If you do decide to purchase this palette, the eyeshadow pans aren’t really glued tightly on. I mistakenly thought that they were removable, so I went ahead and remove one, to discover a drop of glue in the center of the slot.

I figured that I should do a side-by-side comparison since their eyeshadows are very pigmented, Urban Decay on the left and Sugarpill on the right. When placed beside each other, their pigmentation looks about the same. I guess the shimmery finishes of UD makes it look less pigmented. Anyway, I hope this helps for those of you that already own Urban Decay shadows!

My absolute, all-time favorite love! This indie brand does not have a lot of products out yet, but their eyeshadows are vibrantly bright and stand out like no other! And I used to think Urban Decay was bright! Boy, was I in for a new treat.

My first run-in with this product was at Fanime 2010, where I saw an Artist Alley dealer sport this makeup like it’s the shizz. I had always wanted to purchase Sugarpill after that, but wasn’t reminded of it until I read posts written by Temptalia.com.

So, I have the Sweetheart Palette, which consists of colors: Afterparty (Blue), Tako (White), Dollipop (Pink), and Midori (Green). I considered this palette easier to wear and work with, unlike the alternative, which is Burning Heart. Even with this said, I intend to pick up Burning Heart in the future. I also have Love+ (Red Pressed Eyeshadow) and Goldilux (Gold Loose Eyeshadow). Both of these are as pigmented as the pressed eyeshadow palette. And since I’m convinced all the shadows are as pigmented, I’m going to pick up Bulletproof, their pressed matte-black single eyeshadow.

The line has solid colors, pressed matte eyeshadows that do not hint warm or cool tones, which means it should work for all faces! However, unlike my bright eyeshadow brand substitute, Urban Decay, Sugarpill doesn’t have tons of shades yet. But they’re awesome enough and I’m sure they’ll get there one day! Speaking of Urban Decay, I find their shadows to go well with Sugarpill’s.

Anywho, some bad quality pics for you to see! They don’t do the eyeshadow brightness-ness justice, but since I’m going to be posting more pics later anyway, I figured you can look at these bad quality ones and compare them to the good ones later!

I got these five items last month and all turned out very beautiful. The Anastasia palette is a pleasure to use, and so is the Murad concealer (no cake face, is the perfect Medium for my face).

The two Hello Kitty eyeliner sticks I purchased turned out too similar when applied onto my eye. When I did swatches on my hand I was able to tell the difference though. So, if you like both Overalls and Fish Bowl, avoid the temptation to buy both like I did and instead settle for one unless you use blue-greens a lot (which I do).

The Tokidoki Gelato stain isn’t long lasting, but I do like how nicely it stains!

He is more than likely to invest in a high-end brand.

Note to re-create look as character would: Lazlya is a poor adventurer, so she would be more likely to use less pigmented shadows and doll-like blushes. She prefers shimmers and satin finishes, but doesn’t mind matte as well. No chunks of glitter! Also, she only uses powder to line her eyes. In terms of color, she prefers less bright colors and gravitates towards those earth tones. Any dusty rose lipstick will be to her liking. She loves reds as well but abhors light pinks, anything purple, and deep browns.

The only shimmery powder permitted is the gold covering the upper half of her face around her eyes. This look was used to show her status when she resided in the Giftig Plains, prior cult invasion.

Forever 21's Love & Beauty

As much as I’m skeptical about this line, Forever 21 has always been great at selling decent quality items at reasonable prices. I walked into my mall’s Forever 21 to and saw makeup with packaging that looked similar to e.l.f (low end brand) and Bobbi Brown (high end brand).

Here are some comparisons. Click them in pairs.

Love & Beauty Minty Lip Gloss vs. e.l.f Minty Lip Gloss

These from Bobbi Brown vs. These from Love & Beauty. Not the same but very similar + the gold lining.

I know companies do repackage and all, but I find the thought that e.l.f could have done it is funny. Granted, the prices still come to about the same.

Curious. I made two purchases. These were better than the previous e.l.f stuff I got. Then again, e.l.f is pretty inconsistent with their products and the same product never really comes out the same.

The brushes I got are really soft and pretty. Make sure to clean these brushes before you buy them, many hands (like mine) have touched them! The package is not closed tightly and anyone can easily squeeze their finger in to feel.

The lash glue sticks like no other cheap brand I had. Definitely a plus!

Victoria Secret's Love Me Wild - Eyeshadow Quad

Tested each one of them at the Victoria Secret at my mall and found the quality to be slightly better than Lancome’s Eyeshadow. The deal? Both are priced the same, but buying this quad will give you 3x more eyeshadow and colors than if you were to buy a single eyeshadow from Lancome.

You know who I’m abandoning.

These are swatches of palettes No. 1-3 of this eyeshadow.

Two rows of shades. The four shades on the top row, starting from the left are from palette No.2. Palette No.1 is from the peach shade to the last brown shade.

The shorter swatches on the second row are from palette No.3.

My take on each palette.

No.1-Good swatches and color combinations. Close to matte finishes, barely any shimmer. Out of the three, is probably the best one to get.

No.2-Poor excuse of shimmer. Reminds me of some of Tokidoki eyeshadows. Colors don’t really work well together. Worst out of the three. I wouldn’t get it at $40 and I can surely say that it is not even worth $20.

No.3-Would settle for this for the neutral tones and probably as a substitute for the Naked Palette that I could never get my hands on. Really good palette. Matte finishes.

I have finally taken pictures of the looks I drew on the templates! If you click the drawing, you should be directed to an actual picture of me in that particular look! Thank you all so much for your patience! However, I will no longer post in that manner. Instead I will directly post pictures of myself in the look. I will post the template for a particular look upon request.

In celebration of today’s accomplishment, I shall share two new looks. One is called Empress and the other Lush Woodlands. The former look is created with the Kat Von D palette, using colors #4,7,6,and 1 from inner corner of eye to outer corner. The second look is made with the Book of Shadows Vol. III, using colors Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Kush, and Loaded, from inner corder of eye to outer corner.

This is a very subtle rainbow look inspired by my friend’s Dungeons & Dragons character: a troubled transexual-looking male turned homosexual by choice. Even the hair color of this model is exactly the same as his!

Nothing too complicated here, guys. From the upper left corner to the upper outer corner, apply the first three colors and blend into a gradient. Pat Last Call onto your crease and extend as far as you desire, after you brush Grifter onto the area above your crease. Finish off by lining the outer corners with your favorite eyeliner.

Based off the past makeup sketches, you all can probably tell that I like using Grifter above the crease. I don’t know but there’s something about Grifter’s color that makes it perfect to be used in that area.

And for the record, Personal Style isn’t as light blue as the picture on Sephora. It actually is more like a blue with a tinge of sea green, making it a perfect shadow for mermaid looks.

Most of my looks are inspired by a Sephora sales associate member at the San Francisco mall. When I saw the look on her, I thought to myself that was exactly the kind of look I would want on myself.

My looks can be pulled off with most eyeshadows, but the ones I find easier to use are from the Urban Decay line. When I try to come up with a new look, I initially think of the theme I want to create or the colors I want to use. From there, I start brainstorming colors that come to mind with that theme or with that color selection. I hope this answer helps your understanding!
